Keywords Everywhere Review: Keyword Research on the Go With Accurate Metrics

Table of Contents

If you know anything about SEO in general – and certainly if you have read this Keywords Everywhere Review blog before with any frequency – you will know that whatever else changes in SEO, which is a lot, one thing remains the same. Keywords are always going to be a BIG factor in your SEO efforts, and good keyword research is a must.

There are a LOT of keyword research tools out there – and I mean a lot – and they vary in price, accuracy, and general usefulness a lot too. However, many of the oldest and the most popular of these tools – AHREFS, even Google Keyword Planner – don’t always show you the big picture in its entirety, especially when it comes to competitor research.

A very useful tool called Keywords Everywhere can help solve that problem, as I am going to explain here today.

Yes, Keywords Are Everywhere

The days when you only needed to be overly concerned about what keywords Google was most interested in are long over for many businesses. Take e-commerce, for example. An increasing number of people – especially during the pandemic – are taking advantage of third-party marketplaces like Amazon to make money.

These marketplaces have their own search algorithms, algorithms that are completely independent of Google or Bing. So does YouTube, a site that is also making clever content creators extra money during the pandemic especially. YouTube also remains a marketing platform that every business can make great use of, but you’ll need great SEO – and great tags and keywords – to get found.

There really are different keywords everywhere, which means that truly effective keyword research means finding them all. This is where Keywords Everywhere comes in.

How Keywords Everywhere Works

Like many of the useful little tools we use at Pearl Lemon, Keywords Everywhere is a browser add-on, available for either Chrome or Firefox. This is super handy, as it means that 1) it won’t take up room on your hard drive and 2) you’ll always have it to hand. Wherever you land on the web (if you are a paid user), Keywords Everywhere will allow you to investigate the keywords on the page.

The tool is a freemium offering, something that is generally the norm for a lot of the most useful SEO tools. Some of the most basic – and yet still helpful – aspects of it are free to use, a plus if you want to take it for a test drive without making a financial commitment to it. Here’s how it breaks down.

Free users get:

  • Related keywords data from Google and Bing.
  • People Also Search For (PASF) keywords from Google and Bing
  • Google Trends and YouTube current and historical data for the keywords
  • YouTube insights and YouTube Tags
  • View the top 5000 keywords that any URL ranks for
  • Analyze any URL to get the list of keywords – and the density they have been used at -in the content of the page.

Paid Users Get:

All the above plus all associated volume data. Free users have no access to volume data. However, if you make use of another paid keyword tool, then you can export a list of the keywords you discover and check the volume there. Or pay for credits with Keywords Everywhere and do it right there (more on that in a moment)

Support for 15 more websites:

  • Google Search Console
  • YouTube
  • Google Analytics
  • Google Trends
  • Amazon
  • Google Keyword Planner
  • eBay
  • Google Search
  • Etsy
  • UberSuggest
  • AnswerThePublic.com
  • Soovle.com
  • KeywordShitter.com
  • Majestic
  • Moz Open Site Explorer

How To Use Keywords Everywhere

Now that you know more about what it does, how do you put Keywords Everywhere to good use?

After you have installed the extension/plugin in your favorite browser, it will be added to your toolbar (visibly in Firefox, a little hidden in Chrome, but if you dig, it’s there.) Like other extensions you make use of, it will then be sitting there, ready to use whenever you need it.

Right off the bat, search a major keyword for your own site in Google, and you’ll be presented not only with information about your site but also your close competitors right on the search page. In addition, you’ll see the PASF terms, related keywords, suggested longtail keywords, and trends data.

This check is so fast it’s one you may want to do often. This is the free user view, and, as you can see, there is a TON of useful and actionable information available even at this level. You can then take all this information and dig as deep as you like.

Using Keywords Everywhere on Other Sites

We also mentioned third-party marketplaces like Amazon, Etsy and more. So how does it work there? To get started, you will need to activate an API key, but that is a simple process that the developer of the tool walks you through here. These are paid searches, so to conserve your cash (and credits), plan your searches before you make them.

That done, here’s a look at some of the sites you might use most often:

Amazon

Etsy

YouTube

Keywords Everywhere Use Cases

Need some ideas as to how to best use this nifty tool. Here are a few use cases to consider:

Make PPC Campaign Adjustments Fast

You’ll know which keywords to dump from your PPC campaign if you are browsing a site and see that the CPC of a keyword is cost-prohibitive. However, when you also see how many businesses run advertising for particular keywords, you can also find overlooked keywords to invest in, the low-hanging fruit that can bring stellar results.

Get a Better Understanding of What Your Competitors are Ranking for TODAY

The SERPs change all the time. Making use of this tool will allow you to see, in real-time, what keywords your competitors are ranking for right now, in real-time. At this point, you can consider adjusting your own web copy or creating a well-written blog post that makes use of those keywords to help your site rank for them too.

Find Longtail Keywords You Hadn’t Thought Of

The SERPs search we showed you earlier offered all kinds of longtail keywords, and they were offered based on real-time search data. Check them regularly to make sure that you are not missing out on anything that your audience is searching for right now.

Determine Which Markets to Sell In

Often products sold on Amazon could as easily be sold – in theory – on eBay and Etsy. But where do you have the best shot at competing as a new seller? This tool can help you determine that by showing you the stats for the same keyword.

Discover Who Your Competitors Are

There are a lot of sellers on Amazon, Etsy, and eBay selling very similar products, so determining who your competitors are can be very hard. Using Keywords Everywhere makes doing so much easier.

These are just a few examples. The fact is that you can pull a lot of data from this tool to put to all kinds of uses.

Keywords Everywhere Pricing

Unlike many other tools, Keywords Everywhere is not subscription-based. Instead, you pay for credits. To keep things simple – and we love simple, don’t you? – one credit equals one keyword. Currently, the pricing breaks down as follows:

keywords everywhere pricing

Credits are billed on a per-user basis, although it is not exactly the case that one credit will be used for a single search.

For example, if you do a Google search and are given metrics for 8 related keywords and 20 PASFs, it will cost 29 (1 + 20 + 8 = 29) credits.

Some settings can be disabled to reduce the number of credits used. For instance, for every keyword that appears in Google AutoComplete, the tool will charge you one credit. To preserve credits, you should toggle this off.

You can disable the tool at any time so that when you are not doing keyword research, you do not use any credits. You can also toggle off related keywords and PASF outcomes that are related. The tool also informs you how many credits you have left, so you can stay within your budget. Or, you can make use of the basic functionality for basic SERPs searches free!

Why We Like Keywords Everywhere

The Pearl Lemon team uses, between us, a number of keyword tools. As in actual use, not just have because there was a sale on AppSumo! This is because long experience has shown us each one has something different to offer.

We like to have Keywords Everywhere in the mix as it is fast, easy, and can often throw up things that are not highlighted in other tools. We LOVE the real-time SERPs feature for sourcing content ideas, and the longtail keyword offerings have often proved very valuable as well. The e-commerce site features have proved invaluable for our e-commerce clients too.

The one thing we should point out here is that this tool will offer you a LOT of data, even in free searches. That data does need to be interpreted, though, in order to use it effectively. If you find you need help with that, contact the Pearl Lemon SEO team, they will be happy to discuss what you need and how they can help.
