The challenge

Flow With Me struggled with limited brand visibility, with competitors dominating Google's first three pages. The brand's "About" section combined personal and business details, confusing Google's intent signals, and there was geographic ranking confusion despite being based in Ireland. These issues made it difficult for Google to understand and rank the brand effectively.

What we did

Deepak Shukla conducted a live SEO teardown, guiding Sara through competitor discovery using Incognito search and building a competitor visibility tracker spreadsheet. He emphasized separating personal and business SEO identities by creating distinct 'About' pages and analyzed international SEO signals, particularly country-specific relevance from backlinks. The workshop also recommended expanding presence through regional directories and influencers.

The results

Following the workshop and recommended optimizations, Sara reported early visibility improvements within 4 weeks. Her brand achieved 2 branded listings on Page 1 and 6+ listings across YouTube, LinkedIn & Google My Business. For keyword rankings, "chair yoga Ireland" reached Rank 15 and "chair yoga Sydney" reached Rank 9.

The full story

Using a real-life example “Flow With Me” by Sara, a mindfulness and yoga brand Deepak demonstrates exactly how to evaluate your competitors’ visibility, optimize your own listings, and use Google’s ecosystem to your advantage.

The workshop focuses on building a structured, data-led competitor spreadsheet, identifying every place your brand and others appear (LinkedIn, YouTube, Trustpilot, directories), and separating your personal brand from your company identity to help Google understand both.

“Think like your competitor if you can find where they show up, you can show up there too. Google rewards consistency and clarity.” Deepak Shukla, Founder, Pearl Lemon Group

Sara’s brand Flow With Me offers chair yoga and mindfulness classes to audiences across Ireland, Australia, and globally through online sessions.

“When Google’s confused about who or what your brand represents, it doesn’t know which page to show so it shows none of them strongly.”Deepak Shukla

Pearl Lemon’s Strategy Deepak’s live SEO teardown focused on actionable steps anyone can take using Google itself as a competitive intelligence tool. The process was simple yet powerful: identify what’s working for others and systematically build similar (or better) signals.

Action Step: Create a spreadsheet with columns for each platform (LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Maps, Facebook, etc.) and log where your brand and your competitors appear.

This approach helps identify visibility gaps and replicable opportunities. For example, if competitors appear on specific local directories or review sites, you can claim or create listings there to match and exceed their presence.

Separating Personal vs Business SEO Identity Deepak emphasized the importance of distinguishing the founder from the company a key mistake many small businesses make.

This separation strengthens both E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authority, Trust) and entity clarity, allowing Google to rank each page for its intended query type.

The strong performance in Australia was no coincidence Sara’s backlinks included multiple .com.au domains and mentions from Australian yoga directories where she had previously worked and written blogs.

Country TLDs (Top-Level Domains) send strong geographic signals to Google. If you want to rank in Australia, backlinks from .com.au domains carry more weight than .com links from abroad.

These sites offer contextual backlinks and visibility within niche ecosystems both of which boost domain authority and help Google associate your brand with those geographies.

“Directories and niche influencers are your digital neighbors the more local credibility you build, the more Google trusts you.”Deepak Shukla

While these are early-stage metrics, they clearly demonstrate how competitor tracking + structured optimization translates to measurable results.
